As a leading company of the MUTOH Group, we are engaged in a wide range of businesses including industrial inkjet printers and 3D printers, drafters, CAD systems, measurement equipment, and more. In recent years, we have been developing our new applied optics business, based on UV-LED irradiators. In 2026, we entered a new stage of growth as a member of the Brother Industries Group, combining our strengths with Brother’s global technological and brand capabilities to pursue new value creation.

Our company’s origins trace back to the pre-World War II and wartime manufacturing of measuring instruments such as slide rules and calipers—products that supported the foundation of “monozukuri” (manufacturing). Carrying forward this founding spirit after World War II, we developed innovative products such as the Drafter, a design and drafting machine registered as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage, and the pen plotter, which enabled automated drawing output. The advanced control technologies of pen plotter have directly contributed to the development of our current core business such as industrial inkjet printers.

In recent years, we have also been focusing on developing new inkjet printers and inks that are safer for both users and the environment, in response to growing environmental awareness. In addition, we are promoting our UV‑LED irradiator business, which uses LED light sources instead of increasingly regulated mercury lamps. Underlying these product development efforts is our founding spirit: supporting the many people involved in manufacturing through safe, reliable, and high‑quality products.

We support a wide range of manufacturing fields through our digital printing business, design and drafting solutions, measurement and control technologies, and more. We also contribute to safe and sustainable manufacturing by providing UV‑LED irradiators and other environmentally responsible technologies.

MUTOH is committed to delivering high-quality, user-friendly products to the market by pursuing made-in-Japan excellence through domestic design and manufacturing, while also contributing to the growth and development of local industries.
